ENTREPRENEUR
AWARD
June
27, 2001
Presented to Cheryl Collarini by the Society of
Women Engineers for exemplifying entrepreneurial spirit in the establishment of
her three companies and their subsequent successes, through her commitment to
client service, integrity and ethics.

Cheryl Collarini
Collarini Engineering
Inc.,
Petro-Temps Inc., and
Anchor Energy L.L.C
Cheryl Collarini is the chief executive
officer of Collarini Engineering Inc., Petro-Temps Inc., and Anchor Energy L.L.C.
As founder and chief executive officer, she is responsible for the overall
management and strategic planning for all three of these companies.
Specifically, this includes the management of Collarini Engineering's Houston
operations, provision of technical supervision and client services in certain
situations, and direct reports from the senior vice president in charge of New
Orleans office operations, computer systems personnel, and the technical teams
in the Houston office, as well as executive management for Petro-Temps Inc. She
currently owns 51 percent of the voting stock in both Collarini Engineering Inc.
and Petro-Temps Inc., and 40.8 percent in Anchor Energy L.L.C.
She
incorporated her first company, Collarini Engineering Inc., in 1985. The
company's mission is to provide the highest quality service in the areas of
reservoir engineering, geoscience, oil and gas property evaluation, and data
management. The team of engineers, geologists, geophysicists, and technicians
provide reserve estimation and auditing, evaluation of oil and gas properties
for acquisition, divestment, further development, prospect evaluation for
exploration potential, and custom training in the areas of petroleum economics
and risk evaluation. Ten years later, in 1995, Petro-Temps Inc. was established
as a full-service staffing agency specializing in the placement of upstream
petroleum professionals. With a focus on exploration and production personnel,
Petro-Temps Inc.'s mission is to provide highly qualified, well-matched
personnel to meet the needs of oil and gas companies requiring in-house
assistance. The third company, Anchor Energy L.L.C., was formed in 2000 to own
and manage oil and gas production. The talents of the oil and gas professionals
employed by Collarini Engineering are utilized to develop opportunities in
cooperation with clients, to jointly share in the risks and rewards of oil and
gas exploitation.
Establishing
her first company was a vehicle for Collarini to conquer personal obstacles and
remove professional obstacles to growth. It allowed her the freedom to direct
her career and success in a manner she believes would not have otherwise been
possible. She was able to do so while staying where her family needed her,
taking into account the needs of her parents in the aftermath of her brother's
death. Collarini has built her companies on three over-arching principles:
integrity, technical excellence, and client service. Her management philosophy
has been consistent since the beginning-fiscally conservative and recognizing
and maintaining people as the most important asset. Her employees share her
commitment to these principles, and Collarini insists that all of the companies'
dealings are in conformance with them. As clients continually reward the
companies with recommendations and repeat business, the result has been
resoundingly successful. Her adherence to integrity, technical excellence, and
client service embody the spirit of this award.
