Geoscience and computer technician with more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry. Skilled at the support of exploration and production geotechnical professionals, encompassing the development, implementation, and support of both software and databases necessary for their day-to-day activities.

   
 

Managed the geotechnical applications support group at an integrated oil and gas firm. Worked closely with the vice president of exploration and technology planning to jointly set the strategic direction for geotechnical systems, to define and implement projects, and to identify budgetary requirements. Supervised 21 IT professionals, including three direct reports, and an annual budget of five million dollars.

   
 

Managed the technical services department for an independent oil and gas producer. Over a four-year period, installed over 50 servers with a two-terabyte network and its attached storage facility. Established a user support function, constructed physically and environmentally secure facilities, implemented a wide area network, and upgraded the headquarters’ local area network equipment on multiple occasions. Managed an annual expense of two million dollars and 12 people.

   
 

Provided oversight and direction on a project to automate the process of creating exploration basemaps, which required the implementation of hardware and software. In addition to insuring that the maps met the geologists' and geophysicists' interpretation needs, supervised the design and implementation of the process whereby seismic location information was captured, stored, and represented on the final product.

   
 

Managed a project to implement a computer-based lease mapping system, the successful completion of which required the coordination of individuals in multiple departments. This multi-year project generated a state-of-the-art mapping system that improved the company’s strategic position for exploration and acquisition.

   
 

Implemented software for recording and reporting daily production from all company operated wells. Improved data quality by moving the input responsibility to the regional offices. Implemented servers in each regional office, and installed a master database server at the home office.
