Experience:

Geophysicist with ten years of experience and over fifteen years in workstation support. Highly skilled in loading geologic, geophysical, and cultural data to computer workstations. Experienced in application support and output of data for maps and reports. Knowledgeable of Sun workstation installations, PCs, and networks, especially mixed LINUX and PCs using shared directories. Geographic areas worked include the Gulf coast, equatorial Africa, China, and Brazil.  Computer skills include Microsoft Word and Excel, Landmark OpenWorks, UNIX, Oracle, PL/SQL, PERL, FINDER, with limited experience as an Oracle database administrator. 

 

 

 

Built 2-D projects on workstations and extracted SEGY data from tapes.  Loaded line data to master projects, comparing lines with existing data.  Scaled and reprocessed lines where necessary to fit other data. Evaluated lines for correct shot to trace relationships. Loaded lines to specific projects verifying line intersections.

 

 

 

Built 3-D projects on workstation and loaded 3-D grids. Checked with existing data to verify proper grid orientation and image display.

 

 

 

Attended Landmark’s school for Landmark OpenWorks database management and gained experience in file structures, environmental variables, directories, and symbolic links. Loaded well locations, tops, directional surveys, well curve data, td curves, and other data. Performed backups and restoration of Landmark projects. Moved data into and out of projects with PL/SQL and Landmark tools.

 

 

 

Attended vendor schools on running Oracle databases, including starting, shut down, monitoring, and backup. Served as a backup database administrator at a client site. Monitored the status of databases and reviewed overnight backups. Performed occasional loads of vendor updates to the database.
