Experience:

Geoscience technician and data management specialist with 19 years of domestic and international work experience with a major oil company. Extremely proficient in acquiring, managing, analyzing, troubleshooting and integrating geological, geophysical and production data for management, production data retrieval systems, lease sale evaluation and seismic acquisition activity. Highly expert in constructing base maps, seismic base maps, isopach maps, cross-sections, synthetics and log curves using various software systems. Skilled at maximizing team productivity using strong interpersonal skills and an ability to maintain focus. Highly skilled in ZMap Plus, Geolog, StratWorks, LogM, and MS Office. Highly fluent in Spanish.

Trained and mentored 15 Spanish nationals in computer usage and software systems management. Managed four petroleum databases to organize geoscience data for Houston and Bolivia exploration offices. Created a database to reduce duplication by 60%. Coordinated with geoscience staff and industry contractors on seismic lines with scanned and reprocessed data.

Generated base maps, seismic base maps, isopach maps, cross-sections, and synthetics for use in the geoscientists’ presentations and studies. Retrieved data from five databases to make maps and displays.

Digitized gas pipeline maps and over 500 well log curves for geologists, engineers, and land negotiators, which resulted in a reef discovery in east Texas. Provided weekly updates for drilling, leasing, and seismic acquisition activity. Produced a high volume of quality work under short time constraints and within budget.

Retrieved production information using Dwight’s, P.I., and PIDMS databases for over 250 wells in six counties; it was used by engineers for reserve calculations. Loaded over 500 log curves into LogM and Geolog databases to generate cross-sections and synthetics for geoscience presentations and reports. Reduced cycle time by 40%, and lowered exploration risk by integrating data from core files, tops, and workover reports. Organized a large volume of geological, geophysical, and production data, which saved time to locate information.

Drafted over 500 presentations, exploration memos, and reports for Gulf of Mexico lease sales. Generated production decline curves to assist the exploration team in evaluating farrnin opportunities. Catalogued and archived over 20,000 miles of new seismic data to enable the interpreters to use the data without delay. Mentored four high school students in handling geological data such as drafting, folding, and splicing maps.
