Petroleum engineer with 28 years of experience, both domestic and international, in business development, production, and drilling operations projects. Experienced in acquisition and merger evaluation and negotiation, reserve estimation, field studies, portfolio and project risk assessment, field development, drilling and completion operations, gas-lift design and operations, and open-hole and production log analysis. Geographic areas worked include Louisiana and the Texas Gulf coast, the Rockies, west Texas and southeast New Mexico, east Texas, the mid-continent, western Canada, Michigan, the Appalachians, South America, Russia, Indonesia, and the Middle East. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio. Highly skilled in Geoplus Petra, Corel Draw, ArcView, Neuralog, LESA, Crystal Ball, ARIES, and Power Tools. Familiar with OGRE, PEEP, and Geographix.

Was retained by Helmerich and Payne to assist in identifying, evaluating and negotiating with merger candidates to allow the parent company to spin off its E&P assets. Identified 50 public companies, of which 10 were fully evaluated and three were negotiated for merger consideration. Finalized a merger with Key Energy to form Cimarex Energy, and assisted the company with obtaining shareholder and management approval and due diligence to complete the transaction.

Retained by Rike Services, as a teaching consultant, to teach domestic and international drilling, completion, and production operations, log analysis, risk assessment, and economics schools for petroleum engineers and operations personnel with classes held in Russia, Indonesia, the Middle East, and the United States.

Retained by Geoplus as a teaching consultant to design and teach advanced petrophysical and engineering application classes using Petra’s geologic workstation software, with classes held in Tulsa, Dallas, Houston, and Denver.
