Resume of R0067

Education:

B.S., Chemical Engineering, University of Pittsburgh

Experience:

Senior petroleum engineer with 20 years of experience working for a major oil company. Experienced in screening prospects and producing properties and in economic evaluation for acquisition and sale. Effective designer of drilling and completion programs especially for horizontal wells. Experienced in reserve calculations and evaluation of offshore field development. Geographic areas worked include the Gulf coast, Gulf of Mexico, and Texas. Computer skills include GasWat, OilWat, Arcview GIS, Merlin, Workbench, Powerlog, Petcom, Perform, PI/Dwight's, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and proprietary mapping and risk analysis programs.

Researched production data, Internet, and Arcview GIS databases, and analyzed it for exploration projects. Performed economic evaluation for lease sales. Recommended acquisitions to enhance core field values and increase natural gas reserves.

Championed an offshore Production Unit concept to get partners to develop common shallow gas reservoirs. Located, drilled, and completed the shallowest gas horizontal well in the Gulf of Mexico. Conducted a shallow gas horizontal drilling seminar, benchmarking competitors' accomplishments and company's inventory.

Evaluated economics of a $250 million offshore project and recommended its acceptance; it began operations in 1995 and was very successful. Determined the fair market value of fields recommended to management.

Evaluated six onshore Texas fields and directed a broker to market. Packaged fields were sold within three months.

Achieved 120% offshore reserve replacement for three consecutive years, determining reserves for half of the company's operated fields. Analyzed volumetrics and material balance. Recommended 15 development wells to recover reserves. Examined pressure transient data from two wells in 1,700 feet of water to determine reservoir extent.

Planned and drilled seven wells offshore under budget. Analyzed mud systems, directional well planning, bit choice, drilling hydraulics, and cementing procedures. Certified at blowout prevention. Supervised field production engineers. Led onsite drillstem test evaluation for one month on a Baltimore Canyon exploratory well in the Atlantic Ocean. Initiated completion and workover procedures for four rigs at a time.
