Experience: |
Geophysicist with a quantifiable track record of discoveries and reserve additions during 22 years of international and domestic exploration and field exploitation. Skilled at developing clastic and carbonate reservoirs in compressional and tensional tectonic environments. Extensively experienced at evaluating, promoting, and managing geophysical operations for major projects in Thailand, Colombia, and the United States. Proficient in geophysical mapping using Geoquest, Charisma, and Landmark Unix based systems and Seisvision and SMT PC based systems. |
Supervised 3-D seismic acquisition and interpreted a sub-normally pressured, fractured Cretaceous carbonate reservoir in Colombia, South America. Performed detailed structural mapping due to reservoir pressure conditions, including depth conversion, to predict the top of the formation in order to prevent lost circulation. Calibrated wells to seismic using synthetic seismogram and VSP data to estimate expected seismic response. Performed amplitude, seismic inversion, and azimuthal variations in studies to predict fracture orientation and density. Constructed 2-D velocity models for pre-stack depth processing, and conducted regional 2-D seismic acquisition and interpretation. |
Evaluated complex, faulted, multi-zone oil and gas reservoirs in a trans-tensional tectonic setting in the Gulf of Thailand. As a member of a four person technical team, conducted regional seismic mapping and detailed field delineation. During a three-year period, evaluated a 1.25- million-acre concession and drilled 29 development wells and 49 exploratory wells with a success ratio of 84 percent. Worked with drilling and production engineers to maximize per-well reserves and to minimize costs through proper well and platform placement. |
Conducted regional Miocene, Pliocene, and Pleistocene interpretations along the Gulf coast transition zone and in the Gulf of Mexico. As a member of a development team, drilled 53 successful exploratory and development wells. Identified and mapped two channel-fill and channel-levee complexes which resulted in stratigraphically trapped discoveries. |
Conducted regional 2-D seismic interpretations in the Yegua, Wilcox, and Austin Chalk trends in south and central Texas and in the Appalachian fold and thrust belt. Generated 15 successful development locations and four new discoveries. |
