Education:

B.S., Petroleum Geology, Mississippi State University

Experience:

Geophysicist with thirty years of experience in domestic exploration and exploitation of oil and gas properties. Skilled using 2-D and 3-D seismic data and well logs, detailed mapping techniques, inversion techniques, and careful seismic/well-log correlations. A skilled manager with good communication and motivational skills. Capable of utilizing input from geologists/geophysicists, landmen and engineers in order to make timely decisions. Extensively experienced in petroleum exploration and the development of numerous U.S. onshore basins, the offshore Gulf of Mexico, and the Rocky Mountain region. Computer skills include Microsoft Word and Excel, GeoQuest, and some knowledge of Oracle/SQL.

Was the exploration manager responsible for an east Texas salt basin and fields in north Louisiana. Coordinated the exploration and exploitation drilling and seismic activities with our land and engineering groups to accomplish company goals and strategies within specified time frames. Drilled up to 40 development/exploratory wells per year, adding as much as 60 BCF reserves. Had an annual drilling budget of $10-45 million and an annual seismic budget of up to $5 million. Supervised a staff of five geologists, three geophysicists, and three geotechs. Used 2-D and 3-D seismic data and a considerable number of well logs to find porosity pods in the lime that were not drained. Used detailed mapping techniques, inversion techniques, and careful seismic/well-log correlations to locate the porosity. Also worked a sand trend and successfully drilled ten wells.

As a geophysical manager and interpreter, shot and successfully drilled several 3-D seismic programs. Participated in drilling five offshore Gulf of Mexico blocks, one of which was a discovery.

Was the district geophysicist for company properties from the Rocky Mountains to the west coast. Drilled numerous wells in northwest Colorado using 2-D seismic and existing well control. In some places, the sands could actually be observed on the seismic data and be successfully exploited. Generated prospects and evaluated deals from south Louisiana to Florida. Managed a team of geophysicists mapping offshore Gulf of Mexico blocks. Served as an offshore Gulf of Mexico interpreter for lease sales, a trend interpreter, and a data processor.
