Education:

B.A., Geology and Environmental Studies, University of Colorado

Experience:

Geoscientist with a total of 19 years of experience, eight as an oil and gas exploration and exploitation professional, and 11 as an environmental and regulatory consultant.  Extensively experienced working with multi-disciplinary teams on field studies, reservoir characterization, and prospect screening.  Environmental experience includes the technical evaluation and quantification of environmental liabilities, risk assessment, feasibility studies, and remediation design. Proficient in computer mapping, log analysis, and petro-technical data management.  Geographic areas worked include New Mexico, west Texas, Alaska’s North Slope and Cook Inlet, and offshore Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, and Brazil. Proficient in Microsoft Office, GeoFrame, and PowerLog.

As a member of an international exploration team, helped compile, confirm, and analyze borehole, well log, cultural, and historical data to develop work plans for six west Africa offshore blocks.  Prepared the final well reports on exploration wells for distribution to foreign regulatory agencies.  Compiled and checked data from multiple sources for Brazilian lease sale evaluations. Created and manipulated grids for basin modeling, reservoir simulation, and reserve analysis.

Managed a project to acquire over 30 years of historical well log data from several Cook Inlet oil fields.  Directed an outside contractor in converting the analog data to digital format.  Compiled multiple Cook Inlet geologic databases into one integrated database resolving data conversion, formatting, and content problems.

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team that developed a reservoir description model for oil field equity negotiations, synthesized the needs of reservoir engineering and geology, and worked with database and applications personnel to develop the complex programs necessary to construct an intricate reservoir model.

As a member of a group preparing for equity negotiations for the Kuparuk River field, performed the analysis, depth shifting, and normalization of field-wide borehole geophysical logs. Directed meetings with partners to review and approve stratigraphic picks and well log edits.

Technically evaluated bulk terminal, pipeline, and depleted oil field sites for environmental liabilities and associated clean-up costs.   Developed risk management strategies for acquisitions, divestitures, and litigation support.
