Education:

M.S., Geology, Texas A&M University

B.S., Geology, Texas A&M University

Experience:

Geologist with 40 years of experience in exploration and production with major oil companies and as a consultant. Extensively experienced at integrating seismic, well logs and paleontology for field mapping, regional time line correlations, regional cross sections, and sand percentage maps. Skilled in federal and state lease sale preparation, oil and gas property evaluation for financial investments, prospect screening, field studies, and coal bed methane evaluation. Proficient in log correlations, field and isopach mapping, log analysis, porosity and salt-water saturation determination. Geographic areas worked include the Gulf of Mexico shelf and deepwater, south Louisiana, Texas, the Rocky Mountains, California, Peru, China, Vietnam, west Africa, the south Natuna Sea, and Turkey.

Participated in the geological evaluation of both productive and wildcat properties for economic consideration, such as volumetric production payments, equity participation, interim financing, and financial statements. Prepared the geological evaluation of the first Louisiana federal lease sale that extended out to a 600-foot water depth including the Pleistocene trend. The preparation took almost five years and included multiple horizon mapping of over 60 fields. Constructed maps network of stratigraphic cross sections, and made sand percentage on all transgressive-regressive paleo cycles. Integrated subsurface-seismic regional structure maps on at least two horizons over the complete area, and prepared an economic evaluation of each prospect. The blocks purchased in this sale have produced over 600 BCF gas.

Conducted field development for both onshore and offshore Louisiana, including structure mapping, reservoir mapping, development well locations, gas sale deliverability determinations, and recompletion programs for depleting fields. Provided innovative mapping and detailed geological evaluation, resulting in additional production from old declining fields and an increased monthly income from a take or pay gas contract.

Served as an expert witness in a lawsuit in which random geological data and evaluation convinced the plaintiff to withdraw the suit.

Generated a prospect in offshore Louisiana Federal waters, and generated 143 prospects on both leased and open blocks. Drilled 32 prospects; 17 were productive and 15 were dry. Participated in nine offshore wells in a year, with one 20 BCF discovery. Generated and drilled ten wildcat prospects in the Gulf of Mexico with a team of one geologist and two geophysicists resulting in one 50 BCF discovery.
