B.A., Geology, California State University, Sacramento

Experience:

Senior-level geoscientist with over 20 years of international exploration and development experience with a major oil company. Extensively experienced in log evaluation and correlation, log/core data calibration, 2-D and 3-D seismic interpretation, reservoir characterization, and fractured reservoirs exploration/development. Skilled in basin analysis and regional geologic structure. Geographic areas worked include Venezuela, Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, Argentina, Trinidad, the former Soviet Union, Saudi-Kuwait Neutral Zone, U.A.E., Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Egypt, the North Sea, SW Pacific, and Indian Ocean margins. Proficient in LandMark, ArcView, and MS Office. Fluent in Spanish.

Evaluated and quantified reserves, and characterized the Ambrosio and La Vela field reservoirs in western Venezuela. Successfully drilled four out of five wells. Calibrated logs with core data, and built structural models of both fields utilizing seismic and log data. Identified and recommended a prospective coalbed methane acreage acquisition in western Venezuela. Generated a northern Sub-Andean basins regional exploration study, culminating in the recommendation of exploration acreage in Peru and Venezuela. Also participated in the evaluation of exploration acreage in Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, and the Falkland (Malvinas) Islands. Conducted regional evaluations of the Sakhalin Island/Sea of Okhotsk area, the Caspian region, and farm-out evaluations in Europe.

Was the team leader for a Middle East regional mapping project, leading to acreage acquisitions in U.A.E., Yemen, and Oman, and recommendations in the Saudi/Kuwait Neutral Zone. Characterized reservoir and quantified reserves in the Umbarka Field, Egypt.

Coordinated regional mapping for the seventh and tenth Exploration Licensing Rounds in the North Sea, leading to two license acquisitions. Characterized and layered clastic reservoirs for T-Block oil fields (log and core analysis, poroperm, and reservoir mapping), resulting in a successful asset sale.

Conducted regional, deepwater evaluations in the Bahamas, Trinidad, Mexico, Peru, and the Indian Ocean margins. Recommended exploration acreage acquisitions in Trinidad and the Bahamas. Served as a company representative to oceanographic research institutions. Acquired the company's first computer plate tectonic reconstruction software.
