Experience:

Registered professional geologist with 36 years of diverse experience including management in exploration, exploitation, production, oil recovery research, and environmental research with major oil companies, as an independent, and as a researcher. A proven track record as a prospect generator, oil and gas finder in several sedimentary basins in sandstone and/or carbonate rocks. Knowledge of stratigraphy, structure, trapping mechanisms, and producing trends in numerous domestic and foreign hydrocarbon producing sedimentary basins. Skills include surface and subsurface mapping, regional stratigraphy, seismic interpretation, wellsite geology, economic evaluation, and application of enhanced oil recovery processes. A salt dome specialist for a major company while conducting exploration and production geology in the Gulf of Mexico. Proven record as an excellent exploration, exploitation, and production geologist. Geographic areas worked include Texas, Mississippi-Alabama Interior Salt basin, Black Warrior basin, south Arkansas-North Louisiana Salt basin, offshore Louisiana Salt basin, southern North Sea, etc. Computer skills include MS Office, Landmark, Canvas 3.5 and 5.3, Surfer, and Kaneida Graph.

Developed and directed company exploration and exploitation programs. Generated quality exploration and exploitation prospects as an independent and for an independent company. Marketed prospects to industry partners. As hands-on manager, performed wellsite work.

As chief geologist for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, performed basin analysis on frontier exploration areas. Surface and subsurface geology, aerial photography, and seismic interpretation were used in defining drillable exploration locations. Maintained contact with industry partners on technical progress in a development program in the southern North Sea gas area. Updated and supervised update of existing maps for development of the gas area. Laid-out offshore seismic program in preparation for a North Sea leases sale.

Performed petroleum recovery research in a 3-year heavy oil study that compared heavy oil reservoirs in the United States with those in Venezuela and Canada. Compared and contrasted reservoir rock type in sandstone reservoirs in the United States, Venezuela, Canada, and Sumatra for common characteristics that facilitate high recovery by thermal oil recovery processes. Performed environmental assessment in oil fields in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act for Department of Energy funding. Taught workshops to native American tribe members on federal environmental regulations and hydrocarbon exploration.

As a team member conducted regional stratigraphic studies of sandstone and carbonate formations that are reservoir rock in one or more states. Some studies performed are regional stratigraphy of an Eocene, Wilcox formation deltaic depocenter, smackover stratigraphy from the type locality across the southeastern states, regional stratigraphy of the Edwards Reef trend, and Abo Reef regional stratigraphy.
