Education:

B.S., Geology, University of Wisconsin

M.S., Geology, Western Washington University

Experience:

Certified petroleum geologist with 26 years of exploration and development experience with major oil companies. Experienced in property evaluation, multidisciplinary field studies, 2-D and 3-D seismic interpretation and acquisition, log and core analyses, basin analyses, stratigraphic facies models, and subsurface mapping. Geographic areas worked include offshore western and eastern U.S., south and east Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Oklahoma. Computer skills include Logprint, Radian, Easycad, dBase IV, Risk Management, Marstek, and GeoGraphix.

Led engineers, a geophysicist and a landman to add new reserves by integrating 3-D seismic and horizontal drilling technology. Evaluated in over 25 exploration deals resulting in participation in four Cotton Valley Reef exploratory wells. Was the lead geologist for all Oklahoma fields. Initiated a 3-D seismic shoot and developed an AMI to evaluate remaining potential. Provided support for three infill programs, resulting in 53 successful wells. Proposed a multilateral well resulting in new oil reserves. Initiated a shallow gas play with five successful wells.

As district development geologist for east Texas, south Texas, MAFLA, and offshore Texas, supervised six geoscientists. Increased Woodbine production through innovative secondary recovery projects. Developed Austin Chalk oil reserves. Discovered a new field offshore Texas. Assessed non-core fields for divestment. Coordinated all projects with reservoir and drilling engineering team members. Developed Austin Chalk reserves resulting in 45 new oil wells. Supervised a field study, using stratigraphic mapping, which resulted in three new oil wells.

As district exploration geologist for the East Coast and eastern Gulf of Mexico, developed basin analyses and assessed oil and gas potential of trend areas for lease sales; resulted in successful bids. Assessed oil and gas potential of onshore Triassic rift basins and onshore Florida.

Was responsible for all geologic evaluations and assessments for oil and gas potential to support lease acquisition. Performed detailed log analyses and facies modeling. Three new fields were discovered. Interpreted seismic surveys and integrated logs into maps. Developed stratigraphic analyses of deepwater sands for flexure trend plays. Developed Miocene prospects in Louisiana.

Developed submarine ocean floor geologic maps of south California. Generated prospects for offshore California lease sales.
