Experience: Certified petroleum geologist with 32 years of experience with independent oil companies in both exploration and production. Experienced in OCS lease sale evaluation, offshore development, planning, and implementation, and exploration management. Geographic areas worked include south Louisiana, Texas, and offshore Gulf of Mexico. Some knowledge of GeoQuest and Charisma.
Managed two small independents’ exploration programs covering south Louisiana and offshore Gulf of Mexico. Supervised landmen, geologists, and geophysicists. Sought out and evaluated drilling opportunities for participation. Sought out, and helped to evaluate, producing properties from one well to entire companies for acquisition.
As vice president of exploration, was responsible for strategic planning in all of North America. Handled submittals with large monetary commitment. Supervised geological consultants in various geographic areas to augment the districts’ prospect generation, geophysical processing, and basin and trend analysis of areas in North America.
Was responsible for all development geology in the Gulf coast district that included onshore and offshore Louisiana and Texas. Supervised a staff of two senior geologists, four geologists, two draftsmen, and one secretary. The company had 11 platforms drilling on their offshore leases.
Was responsible for the geological development of an offshore field with five platforms drilling at the same time in order to develop 26 different pay sands. Supervised four geologists who conducted wellsite evaluations and mapping areas of the dome, coordinating mapping into a single structure map for each horizon. Recommended drilling locations.
Performed wellsite and subsurface evaluation in Pointe Coupee Parish, south Louisiana, and offshore Louisiana. Assisted in regional sand studies in the Miocene, Pliocene, and Pleistocene trends.
