From the Chairman

Cheryl R. Collarini, P.E.

Change!  A browse through the thesaurus equates it with revolution, improvement, adaptation, and renewal.

On the 17th anniversary of forming
Collarini Engineering, we are again embracing the opportunity to change. Our new organization is designed to enable us to continue to improve and expand our service to the industry we know so well. Did you notice the new logo?  It brings together our two companies under the Collarini name that has earned its good reputation by serving our industry clients well.

Petro-Temps has steadily grown as a trusted provider of professional oil and gas staffing services since 1995.  However, sometimes our friends and clients don't realize the connection to Collarini Engineering even exists.  To us it has always been a very clear relationship: our staffing experts work closely with our engineers and geoscientists to assure the perfect match of talented

people to the customer's personnel needs every time.  Going forward, renaming the company Collarini Energy Staffing will make our bond more apparent; the shared name will serve as a reminder of their relationship.

At the same time, I am proud to announce that Dennis Jordan, a trusted partner and friend, has been elected President of Collarini Engineering.  I am confident that the quality of service you have  expected and received will continue with Dennis at the helm; he has my total support. I will continue to serve as President of Collarini Energy Staffing as well as pursue new business development opportunities in the domestic and global markets.

Thank you for your continued support! We look forward to serving you well!

Sincerely,

"The Effect of Mass Layoffs on Unemployment Insurance Rates"

Collarini Energy Staffing will host an informative Lunch and Learn April 18, 2002. Our guest speaker will be Ms. Leigh A. Pursell. Upstream figures to consider, or: The cost of a barrel of talent!

Have you ever done the math?  Expressed in oilfield terms, the cost of a petroleum engineer is about 25 barrels of oil per day.  The cost of a four-person technical team is about 100 barrels per day.  Put a four-person team on an old field and challenge them to pay their way!

At Collarini Engineering, it's what our teams do every day!

One recent field study comprised a comprehensive review of new 3-D seismic and the data from more than 100 wells.  We found 28 new opportunities with more than 350 BCF of reserves and reserve potential.  That equates to nearly 20,000 barrels per day!

Have you ever done the math? An engineer who decreases operating cost by only $0.50 per barrel in a 600 barrel per day field pays for himself or herself for the year from the increased profit margin alone!  And increases reserves by about 40,000 barrels.  And postpones abandonment liability by extending the field life.  And reduces the DD & A rate, increasing net income.

At Collarini Energy Staffing, it's what our production engineers know!

Compressor design, de-bottlenecking, equipment review, and general expense analysis are effective approaches.  Field experience is key, and we know hundreds of people with more than 20 years of practical, proven experience.
